The Basics of Cat Allergy Care
It is estimated that about ten million Americans have some kind of cat allergy. These allergies are triggered by going near cats, but the real reason as to why cat allergies flare up is because of the sweat and saliva of the cat. There are various symptoms that should be watch for in terms of cat allergy care, and allergies can be handled if taken care of properly.
First, it is important to know for cat allergy care that the sweat and saliva of the cat are more likely to cause cat allergies to flare up. There is a protein in these fluids with a Fel d 1 carbohydrate structure. This is a protein that is much smaller than that of pollen spores. With the small size of this protein the person with car allergies is more likely to develop an allergic reaction to the cat. In fact, nasal passages can be bypassed with the lungs being impacted instantly.
Another of the things to watch for in terms of cat allergy care is that it is best to make sure that everything in the house is clean without any of the cat saliva or sweat particles around the area. After a cat cleans itself the allergens from the cat saliva will be deposited onto its fur. The dry saliva particles can float around the house as a result. These allergens can last for long periods of time unless the area where the cat has been is cleaned properly. For cat allergy care it is best to clean the areas that the cat goes around.
There are some important symptoms to watch for in terms of cat allergy care. The eyes, ears, throat, nose, lungs and skin can be easily impacted by cat allergies, so it is important to watch for symptoms in order to get cat allergy care soon. However, it can take days for the allergy symptoms to fully appear.
There are various different symptoms of cat allergies that a person can develop. Red or swollen eyes, nasal congestion or a runny nose, sneezing, stuffed ears and itching in the throat are among the cat allergy symptoms. When these are found after a person comes into contact with a cat then it is best to start cat allergy care.
There are some ways how cat allergy care can work to help alleviate symptoms. Allergy relief medicines should be stocked in the house so that the person can be treated properly. Also, using an air conditioner during humid times of the year will be very useful for cat allergy care because the cat saliva and sweat allergens can float around easily and can be dormant in the air unless they are impacted. A HEPA filter, or High Energy Particulate Air filter, should be used in the home’s ventilation system too.
The last part of cat allergy care should be used in order the worst case scenarios. If all of the above does not work properly it may be best to consult a doctor about immunotherapy or about medications to control the allergies.
