Using leather furniture in the house instead of carpeted furniture is another of the best things you can do for handling pet allergies. Like with the floors, leather furniture can be easy to clean in terms of handling pet allergies because the allergens will not stick to the surface easily.

Zoning off parts of your home is another option for handling pet allergies. You should keep pets off of the bed you sleep in and the chair that you generally sit on, for instance.

There are even things that you can do for your pet with handling pet allergies. Bathing your pet often can help to reduce the allergens and pet dander on the pet’s body. Washing your hands after playing with your pet and not touching your face after doing so can help too.

In the event that your pet allergy symptoms are too severe and can result in asthma attacks then it is best to not have a pet in the home. Some medications can help to control the symptoms though, but for ones that cannot be simply handled by medications it is best to just avoid the pet altogether and not have one in the house.
