Removing Cat Allergens From Your House

If you have a cat in your home and you are allergic to the cat then you should know that there are methods that you can use for removing cat allergens around your home. You don’t have to give up the cat in order to make your live better; you just have to use a few helpful steps for removing cat allergens that can be passed off by dander and small sweat and saliva proteins.

The first tip for removing cat allergens is to keep your cat off the bed. While Fluffy may like that bed of yours because it’s so soft it the allergens Fluffy leaves will only make things worse, especially at night. You won’t be able to sleep if you’re sneezing from your cat allergies, so it is important that you wash your bed and make sure you keep the cat off of it.

Next, keeping your cat out of your bedroom altogether is another of the tips you should use for removing cat allergens. While it may be a sacrifice you’ll have to make it will only be a minor one. The door to your room should always be closed and you should use an air purifier or air conditioner in the room so that none of the allergens will be able to sneak into the room.

Washing beddings, carpets and other materials around your home is especially important for removing cat allergens from your home. You should wash them in 140-degree temperature water at least twice each month. You could breathe in the allergens on the carpets and other materials if the allergens do build up over time.

Using high efficiency air filters around the house is another tip for removing cat allergens. These air filters will help to keep cat allergens from moving around the house easily. The air in your room can be cleaned with more efficiency too, and this will help you so that you will not be able to breathe in any of the allergens without knowing it.

The last of the tips for removing cat allergens is to vacuum up your home at least twice in a week. A high efficiency vacuum cleaner should be used because cat allergens can easily stick to the floor, carpet and furniture. You should check the areas clearly and clean the surfaces if the vacuum cleaner does not pick up everything. Hypo-allergenic vacuum bags should be used for the cleaner too because with these bags the allergens will not escape.

These are all important tips you should use for removing cat allergies. It may take some work and some sacrifices will need to be made, but it will definitely be worth it for your health.
